The Course

The course is a part -time 17 week course .

Tuesday 5.15 -9:00 Thursday 5.00 -9.00  Two part -time course durations a year: September -January and January - June .

 Located in Titanic Quarter

CELTA seminars include
  • analysis of spoken and written language

  •  teaching methodology for adult language learners

  •  lesson and syllabus planning 

  •  preparation and evaluation of resources and materials

  •  observation of experienced teachers 

  •  professional development

Entry Requirements Essential :
  •  A high standard of spoken and written English

  •  Minimum of two A levels or equivalent

  •  At least 20 years old

Desirable :
  •  Some knowledge of at least one other language

  •  A degree

  • Relevant work experience

English teaching experience is not a requirement. Non -native speakers of English can apply for the CELTA course if they meet the requirements. Applications will be processed on a first come first served basis. Suitably qualified applicants are invited for interview and asked to complete a pre - interview language task as well as a brief written task on the day of the interview. Places are limited and will be offered to those candidates who it is felt are best equipped to complete the course
